  • Reiki is an energy healing modality that activates the body’s innate ability to heal. A gentle yet powerful practice, Reiki creates a feeling of inner peace and alignment, allowing you to feel balance & harmony in mind, body, and spirit.

Reiki works with the Chakra system, which refers to the energy centers within our body that affect our emotional and physical well-being. This way of healing on a deep level allows you to see beyond physical and emotional & towards the root of imbalance.

A session is conducted with the client laying on a treatment table while the practitioner places hands above and on the body to identify where blockages may be. The hand placements transfer healing energy to allow free flow of life force. Reiki can be beneficial for anxiety and depression, physical pain, transitional periods in life, processing trauma, relaxation and sleep support, as well as a tool to simply come home to yourself.

Shannon is a Reiki Master, Yoga Teacher and Certified Holistic Health Coach. She guides her clients on their journey of self-exploration, and along with Reiki, incorporates meditation, movement, holistic nutrition, or other forms of support in the healing process. The warmth of her presence can bring about an immediate sense of calm to those around her, and makes it easy and safe to dive into deep work.

Email Shannon at shannon@somayogacenter.com or book through her website.

Please note Shannon’s 48 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel within 48 hours of the session you will be charged the full price of the session.

  • As a natural progression from teaching restorative and yin yoga and practicing reiki, Yera became well known for her energetic touch in class, assisting some of Boston's favorite teachers for several years. The organic next step was to hone her skills and learn a modality that would combine what she was intuitively practicing on her students. In 2017, she began studying and completed Level 1 Thai Yoga Bodywork with Slava Kolpakov, a master teacher, trainer and author who originally learned the modality in Thailand almost 20 years ago. Since then Yera completed Level 2 and assists Slava's trainings anytime he's on the east coast.

Thai Yoga Bodywork is a great way to lubricate joints, stimulate blood flow, activate the parasympathetic nervous system, relieve pain and so much more. It's rhythmic, soothing, and it increases mobility and circulation. Enjoy this bodywork fully clothed, on the ground, on a comfy mat. There's an element of energy work as well as muscle compression to alleviate tension, pain, and stress.

Postural Yoga is designed to minimize chronic aches and pains by bringing your body back into balance.

Through genetics and habitual patterns, we are all in misalignment. These imbalances are a big cause of chronic pain in our bodies and will eventually lead to injury. I will assess your postural imbalances and then utilize a combination of rolling and yoga based stretching and strengthening to restore balance. This work will prevent injuries and allow you to keep doing all of the activities you love.

Along with my extensive Yoga background, I am a 200 hour certified Postural and Movement Analyst with Tom Myers.

I also incorporate breathing, meditation, and relaxation techniques to help you relax.
